My Turn

I have been waiting for a long time,

Waiting for my turn on the queue.

I have been waiting for someone to call my name.

I have been hearing the names of others

And others have been hearing their names.

I have been waiting patiently for my turn;

I have been expecting,

But nothing seems to happen.

It seems hopeless!

I am now anxious and worried.

It seems as if my turn will never come;

I almost let go,

But suddenly I heard a voice.

I stopped, I looked, and listened

As the mellifluous voice kept calling my name.

I went expecting,

And suddenly, I was surprised with a crown.
