Over 1.9 million Nigerians vie for 30,000 paramilitary jobs in Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board

 The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has disclosed that more than 1.91 million Nigerians applied for the ongoing paramilitary recruitment exercise.



Data from the board’s recruitment portal showed that the positions span the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Immigration Service. Only about 30,000 applicants are expected to be recruited.

Kogi recorded the highest number of applications with 116,243, followed closely by Kaduna with 114,599 and Benue with 110,644. Other states with significant figures include Kano (89,421), Niger (79,567), Kwara (78,467), Katsina (76,917) and Nasarawa (76,677).

The statistics also revealed lower application numbers in Lagos (14,221) and Bayelsa (11,680), with the Federal Capital Territory recording 30,320 applicants.

The board announced that the shortlisting process is underway and successful candidates will be contacted via email and text messages in the coming weeks with further instructions.
