Manchester United closing in on signing striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig

Manchester United have reached a 'total agreement' with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko over personal terms to sign him ahead of the new season.

The Old Trafford side have reportedly agreed a contract with the 22-year-old Slovenia international until June 2030, with club-to-club talks still ongoing.

Sesko is understood to be solely focused on joining Man United this summer and ‘never gave a similar indication to other clubs’, despite also receiving an approach from Newcastle in recent weeks.

The club views Sesko as a key long-term addition to solve the striker crisis once and for all.

Romano, writing on X, has revealed that Man United have now reached a ‘total agreement’ over personal terms with Sesko, with a contract in place until June 2030:

Man United have been on the lookout for a new number nine this summer and are believed to have considered several options before advancing on Sesko, including Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins.

The Red Devils have already welcomed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo as their two marquee senior additions, while promising left-back Diego Leon has also arrived.

Sesko has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising strikers during his two seasons at Leipzig, scoring 39 goals in 87 appearances across all competitions for the German club.

His preference to join Man United comes despite Newcastle’s willingness to pay a higher fee and offer Champions League football next season.
