Heirs Energies CEO charts bold path for Africa’s energy future

The Chief Executive Officer of Heirs Energies, Osa Igiehon, has declared that Africa’s energy future lies in unlocking frontier basins and efficiently managing mature brownfield assets, while staying committed to global sustainability goals.

Igiehon will be among the key speakers at the upcoming 2025 U.S.-Africa Energy Forum scheduled for August 7 in Houston, Texas, where he is expected to present Heirs Energies’ strategic approach to responsible energy development across the continent.

According to Igiehon, the company’s participation in the high-level forum demonstrates its commitment to leading conversations that align energy security with climate-conscious strategies. The event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to explore opportunities in hydrocarbons, natural gas, and renewables.

Heirs Energies, one of Africa’s leading indigenous energy firms, is focused on leveraging innovation and strategic partnerships to drive sustainable growth. Igiehon emphasized that the company’s operating philosophy is rooted in Africapitalism—a private sector-driven model that blends economic advancement with social impact.

“At the forum, we’ll highlight how this philosophy informs our approach to asset management, gas monetisation, and long-term partnerships that support both local development and global energy demands,” he said.

Currently, Heirs Energies is expanding its gas infrastructure and already supplies three major power plants in Eastern Nigeria. Igiehon stressed the importance of maximizing every molecule of gas produced—not only to boost industrial output but also to power homes and raise the operational standards of indigenous firms.

The CEO is scheduled to deliver an Executive Insight and participate in the Explorers Town Hall, where he will further outline Heirs Energies’ vision for a self-sufficient African energy future built on sustainability, innovation, and responsible exploration.
