Former House of Representatives member, Danji Shidi, who represented Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement personally signed in Jalingo, Shidi said his decision followed wide consultations and a resolve to chart a new political course. He expressed gratitude to his supporters for their solidarity since he left the ruling APC, describing their backing as proof of a shared vision to rescue Taraba from poor governance.
“This will serve as our platform as we actively engage in the democratic process leading into the 2027 elections,” Shidi said. He urged his supporters and all advocates of good governance to rally behind the ADC, promising to champion policies that would lift communities out of poverty and improve lives across the state.
Shidi, a two-term lawmaker, contested the Taraba South Senatorial seat on the APC platform in the 2023 general elections but lost. The seat was later secured by Senator David Jimkuta following a Supreme Court ruling on the APC’s internal disputes.
