Senator Ede Dafinone Empowers Delta Central Youths, Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Development

 


The Senator representing the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone on July 6th held a strategic engagement with councilors and young leaders from Delta Central Senatorial District in a bid to deepen youth development and foster inclusive growth across Delta Central Senatorial District.


The event held at the PTI Conference Hall in collaboration with Chief Hope Ejiro, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Community Development, brought together youth leaders from all eight local government areas, alongside other distinguished guests including Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, Chairman of Delta State IGR; the Vice Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Chief (Mrs.) Meg Atano, who represented the Chairman; and Hon. Tony Ofoni, Chairman of Uvwie LGA, aalongside key youth-focused support groups such as DACC, APCYSF, and Uvwvie Vanguard, all of whom continue to champion youth empowerment and grassroots development.


The impactful dialogue journalists gathered focused on real issues affecting communities, sustainable solutions, and a shared vision for a stronger and more empowered future.


Speaking comparatively, the dinstingished senator, known for his pragmatic leadership style, emphasized collaboration and capacity building during the meeting. He stressed the importance of equipping our youths and grassroots leaders with tools to stand out among their peers nationwide. The gathering served as a platform for strengthening partnerships and reinforcing his commitment to grassroots transformation.


Nevertheless, demonstrating this commitment through tangible action, Senator Dafinone rolled out a comprehensive empowerment program. He distributed sewing machines, 100 Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, ₦50,000 grants to selected youths, and a ₦5 million youth development fund. These efforts mark the beginning of a series of empowerment projects designed to foster entrepreneurship, job creation, and self-reliance among the youth.



























However, the event also featured the identification of community-based groups that will serve as focal points for future outreach programs. Senator Dafinone encouraged youths to take advantage of ongoing federal government initiatives and empowerment schemes. A representative from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) was present to provide insights on business support opportunities available to young entrepreneurs.


Reiterating his open-door policy and dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy, the senator stated, “My door remains open to every constituent because delivering on our democratic promises is a core mandate.” He added that forms were distributed to interested youths to support their enlistment into various uniformed services, as part of efforts to widen access to national career opportunities.


The Delta Central Councilors Forum, in recognition of the senator’s exemplary leadership and consistent empowerment drive, passed a Vote of Confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Dafinone. They praised their collective dedication to good governance and national progress.


A highlight of the occasion was the presentation of a special award to Senator Dafinone by the Councilors Forum. In addition, the forum officially adopted him as their trusted Legislative Advisor a role the senator graciously accepted, promising to provide unwavering support and guidance as they work together for the betterment of his people.
