The Lagos State Government has launched a two-day training programme on Land Titling and Documentation to enhance the capacity of land officers in managing land administration effectively.
The initiative, organised by the Ministry of Establishments and Training, is designed to address the growing complexities of land governance driven by rapid urbanisation and population expansion.
Declaring the programme open, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Olubusola Abidakun, represented by the Director of Industrial Relations, Anne Kushimo, described the training as a strategic step towards transparent, secure and efficient land titling aligned with global standards.
“Land titling and documentation are not merely administrative tasks; they are vital tools for economic empowerment, legal certainty and public confidence. Accurate and accessible land records form the basis for investment, dispute resolution and trust in governance,” Abidakun said.
She explained that the training supports Lagos State’s ongoing public sector reform agenda, which prioritises efficiency, digital transformation and improved service delivery. Effective land documentation, she noted, underpins infrastructure development, urban planning and sustainable economic growth.
Participants, drawn from the Ministry of Housing, Lands Bureau, Lagos State Valuation Office and the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure, are expected to gain practical knowledge of regulatory frameworks, documentation standards and emerging technologies in land administration.
Abidakun praised participants for their commitment and reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to building a skilled and forward-looking civil service equipped to meet the state’s development goals.
