Dangote Sugar Refinery reports N430.2bn revenue in H1 2025, returns to profit

 Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc has posted a revenue of N430.21 billion for the first half of 2025, marking a 45.5 percent increase from the N295.62 billion recorded in the same period of 2024.



According to its unaudited financial results filed with the Nigerian Exchange, second-quarter revenue rose by 25 percent year-on-year to N216.28 billion, up from N172.90 billion. Cost of sales rose by 36.4 percent to N378.54 billion, while gross profit surged by 184.9 percent to N51.68 billion, compared to N18.14 billion in the first half of 2024.

The company also returned to profitability in Q2 2025 with a pre-tax profit of N523.8 million, recovering from a loss of N104.5 billion in the same quarter last year. Total assets stood at N1.03 trillion as of June 30, 2025.

Chairman Aliko Dangote reaffirmed the company’s long-term strategy to increase refined sugar production to 1.5 million metric tonnes annually, positioning it as a key player in achieving Nigeria’s sugar self-sufficiency goals.

Dangote Sugar operates a 1.44 million metric tonne refining plant in Apapa and a 50,000-tonne facility in Numan, Adamawa State. Through its backward integration programme, the company is cultivating over 47,000 hectares of sugarcane as part of efforts to reduce reliance on imports and strengthen local production.
