Former Campaign Coordinator of Atiku Abubakar in North Central Leaves Peoples Democratic Party, Backs Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Anngu Orngu, the former North Central Coordinator for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and announced his support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Orngu commended Tinubu’s reform agenda, calling it “bold and transformational.” In an interview with our reporter on Thursday, he expressed that Tinubu’s economic and institutional reforms are paving the way for Nigeria’s long-term prosperity, which will benefit future generations.

“President Tinubu is not merely paying lip service to Nigeria’s reformation. He is undertaking the difficult and necessary work of repairing a broken system,” he stated.

He pointed to the removal of the fuel subsidy as one of the most significant actions taken by the Tinubu administration, labeling it a crucial step toward dismantling a system that has perpetuated poverty in the country.

“Removing subsidies was not a popular choice, but it was the right one. It requires courage to challenge long-standing systems of waste and abuse,” he stated.

Orngu, who previously served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Student Affairs, pointed out that no governor in Nigeria is currently borrowing to pay salaries, which he believes indicates that the country’s public finances are stabilizing under Tinubu’s leadership.

He also took a jab at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, advising him to “take a break and stop behaving like a juvenile political activist.” Instead, he urged Abubakar to support President Tinubu’s efforts to improve the nation.

“This is a time for national rebuilding, not trivial politics. Those who genuinely care about Nigeria should unite behind Tinubu’s vision.

“I urge all Nigerian youths to firmly support President Tinubu in his quest for success. Let us grant him the strong mandate he deserves in 2027 to continue the important work he has begun.

“The future is ours, and we need to back the leader who is building the foundation for it.”
