Thirty-six soldiers hospitalized after four buses 'carrying more than 100 military officers' crash near Paris

At least 36 people have been left injured after a major crash between four buses carrying military cadets and another vehicle in France.

The horror crash happened on the French A13 near Guerville, about 36 miles west of Paris, last night.

At least 36 people were injured, including one left in critical but not life-threatening condition, according to local media.

The injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals, while the person in critical condition was rushed to a Paris trauma centre.

Police have declared a mass-casualty event as 119 people were involved in the accident between the four buses carrying cadets from a military school and a light vehicle.

Emergency services including fifty firefighters and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene and reduced traffic on the busy motorway to a single lane.

The cadets, who were returning to school from a seminar when the crash happened, left the scene via replacement buses.

The cause of the accident is unclear.
