Abuja - A 24-year-old man, Ismail Yusuf, was on Tuesday docked at a Life Camp Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly calling the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje and his wife thieves on his Tiktok handle.

Police said the defender allegedly posted a video on his Tiktok handle titled ‘DAN WUTA.’

The prosecutor, Joshua Ayah, told the court that the defendant in the video, alleged that Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje and his wife stole Kano State money and that of Nigeria at large.

He was charged with intimidation and defamation.

Yusuf, of no fixed address, however, denied the allegations.

The prosecutor, Joshua Ayah, said the complainants, one Jamila Adams and Abdullah Haruna, both of Asokoro and Apo, Abuja, reported the matter at the Galadima Police Station on March 5.

Ayah said that on August 8, 2024 and sometime in January, 2025, the defendant dishonestly posted the video on his Tiktok handle titled ‘DAN WUTA’.

He said the second complainant alleged that the defendant also threatened to kill him and his family members.

Ayah said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 391 and 397 of the Penal Code.

The Chief Magistrate, Musa Jobbo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties, who must be residing within the court’s jurisdiction.

He adjourned the case until April 14 for hearing.
