Austin Okocha Will Always Be My Idol – Alex Iwobi

Super Eagles and Fulham of England midfielder, Alex Iwobi has described former Nigerian international Austine Okocha as his biggest idol.

Iwobi’s performance this season with Fulham has been nothing short of impressive across competitions and his ability to thrive under pressure and express his skills reflects the lessons he said he learnt from Okocha, who is his uncle.

In an interview with the ‘Is this seat taken podcast’, he stated that Okocha has influenced his football career positively.

“In the sports? Forever my uncle, Jay Jay Okocha. I have to shout him out all the time. On and off the field.” he said.

“I used to go watch his matches and training sessions. He his the one that really taught me how to express myself.

“And off the pitch he is always advising me on how to be professional, manage my money, how to move, stay humble and grounded. So he will always be my idol” added the former Arsenal player.
