JAMB suspends law programme in 8 institutions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has withdrawn approval for admission into the Law program at eight universities. A statement from JAMB Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, indicated that this decision follows the suspension of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) program by the Council of Legal Education for the 2025/2026 academic session due to violations of regulatory procedures.

The affected universities include Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State; Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State; Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State; and Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State.

Others are Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State; Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State; and the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.

Furthermore, the Nigerian Police Academy has been barred from admitting students for two academic sessions: 2025/2026 and 2026/2027.
